He was a member of the Boonville Presbyterian Church, the National Rifle Association and was the Assistant Scout Master for Troop 13 in Boonville. He was on his second tour to Vietnam. It is impprtant to note in the story below, SGT White had returned to Vietnam in late 1969, was injured, returned home at some point in 1970 to recover for 30 days after being wounded in an event where he was involved with a helicopter crew on the ground in an Landing Zone and were attacked by uknown size enemy force and he was the only survivor. The Virtual Wall has been unable to determine when and where that event took place. He returned to Vietnam and with only a short time remaining in his service when was killed in a second event. > SGT Gregory Lee White is buried in Boonville Cemetery, Boonville, Oneida County, New York as were his mother, Georgia Frederica (Yager) White (1918-2001) and father Edwin L.
