My cousin, Mack Lee Preston, was killed in Vietnam in 1969. His family lived in the country.

His name is on the Wall.

We played together as children when my family would visit Grandma's. We lived about 100 miles away. I had just graduated from high school when he was killed.

I still remember the fun we had together and how devastating his death was to his mother, Mary. She never stopped grieving his loss.

She is with him now in heaven.

A memorial initiated by a cousin.

My uncle,
Mack Lee,
I never got to know.
I'm sure he was a great man because he was raised by my grandma,
she was a wonderful person.
I know that my grandma is happy to see him now in heaven,
and I'm sure he is more than happy to see her too.

I miss them,
both of them.
I really wish Mack was in my life!!!
but God has reasons for what he has to do.
