Jerry Wayne Morton was my dad. I never got the pleasure of meeting him. He was killed in Vietnam two days before I was born. He is missed terribly to this day. My mom never remarried and raised 3 children alone. I know someday I will have the honor of meeting him. I am curious as to who wrote "He was my dad's best friend". If you read this please contact me. Thank You ... to all who served. We love and miss you, dad.

A Note from The Virtual WallThe 173rd Airborne Brigade was the first US unit to operate in the Mekong Delta and the first to operate west of the Oriental River when it conducted a combat assault into Landing Zone WINE, approximately 6 kilometers west of Duc Hoa in Hau Nghia Province on 01 Jan 1966.
