My Brother, My FriendI had a brother, Richard was his nameHe was also my friend, I am not shamed We shared fun, laughter and joy Most of all, his motorcycle, his toy People stared as they drove by I'd give them a smirk, pretending he's my guy Most of the time we spent together Were during our teens, thought we'd live forever He was so special my brother, my friend I can't believe it all came to an end Only the good die young, that's what they say I think about Richard whenever I hear that, to this day We had a special bond, he and I The saddest day of my life was when I said "good-bye" As I stand here beside his grave I think of all that he gave It's written "killed in Vietnam Dec 30th 1967" I'm sure my brother the hero is in heaven.

My name is Dave Lefebvre, and Richard was my friend, my fishing buddy. I recall the day I learned of his death. I was sad and very angry, because, as I recall he was near the day he would return to the US, and I would have been one to be there when he did. For a long time, I would see his mom and dad at BiWise, and all our eyes would well up. I still miss him. We had fun.
